One Big Fat Turkey for Christmas

So i guess the world didn't end after all, hohoho... there were so many rumors going around about it before. Anyways, it's Christmas today, also a public holiday for Malaysians. What a good news for us lazy people.
2012 has been a remarkable year for me, did tons of things, been through the ups and downs, even visited the political and cultural center of China recently, i must say Beijing is one of the best cities in the world, don't count the pollution, cut Beijing some slack... Will be starting my internship with E&Y next January, not 13-14 of January, but 3rd of January, I guess malaysia boleh is always malaysia boleh. Hope everyone does well. Yesterday on Christmas eve I had a small gathering with family and friends, luckily my mum got us a fat juicy turkey for free, AGAIN! I think it's the 3rd time we failed to finish it! Of course, there were unfortunate things that happened this year, like my friend's dad just passed away few days ago, truly devastating, i guess life is just vulnerable, and full of uncertainties. But, there will always be a silver lining in the cloud. We should really appreciate what we have. Merry Christmas and Happy holidays! Well at least for now... Mr Keith Foo, are you ready for 2013?

The Last Emperor - Puyi

The Forbidden City
Puyi looking sleepy
Last week i had spent almost 3 hours of my life watching a movie call The Last Emperor, it is about a boy who turned into an emperor when he was barely 3 years old. Puyi was a Manchurian, part of the Aisin-Girio clan, and the last emperor of China. The film was released in 1987, before I was even born. The fact that my parents watched it 10 years ago just made me stunned in disbelief. Immediately I felt like, 'Wow, Now I'm watching it'.

Puyi was conferred as the emperor of the Qing Dynasty in 1908, recommended by her grandma, Empress Dowager Cixi. At that time that he was brought away from his family and sent to the Forbidden City to begin his training as a member of the royal family. Though only a small child Puyi was treated like a god,he was carried everywhere rather than allowed to walk and was constantly attended by a troupe of eunuchs, who were his servants. You can't even look at him if he passes you. In 1912 the power of the royal family was severely limited by the rise of the Republican forces that officially seized power after the Xinhai Revolution. Subsequently, Puyi's role was reduced to that of a ritual figurehead rather than a true leader. He was merely enjoying his life in the palace, with an empress and a concubine, man you pimp...

Apparently China had a broken society, different people had different ideologies for their country, which made China disunited.

Many years later when Japan took over Manchuria and named it Manchukuo, Puyi was selected as the new emperor of Manchukuo. However, he was just a mere puppet and had limited power. He only had a little say in controlling Manchukuo. Manchukuo was part of today's Russia, North Korea and China. It was used a base for the Japanese to facilitate their attack on China, and to ease their plans of ruling the world.

Mixed feelings because I felt sorry for this guy. He was practically used throughout his life, as a fool and a puppet. But I believe that in life you cannot have everything you want, sometimes even you've worked hard it. Why? Because that's life. I think it's just better to be a normal person, especially at wartimes and the earliest civilizations when kings and queens just get killed like that. Well, Pros and Cons for both ways but it's a balancing factor.

Relating Disney To Real Life

Scar betraying Mufasa, his older brother
The bad bullying the good, just seems pretty normal to me now. Living in this world bad things do happen to good people. Who do you think is winning in this picture? It's just like making tens and thousands people bankrupt, and leeching that thousands, millions, and billions from good, innocent people. Sounds familiar don't you think? I guess this is the dark side a human nature, and it seems like evil always win. Just beat on i guess, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past...

Clayton looking for gorillas to hunt
Very classic example of human beings with high degree of greed. Killing, cheating, destroying, polluting just for money. Will that amount of stolen money make you happy? For me, that's not real happiness. Evil people don't experience divine happiness, they never will. They can only get pleasure. What would you be thinking about when your lying on a bed dying? Will it be the luxurious cars you have in your garage? Or you failing to make the world a better place? You may have it all now, well, Eternity awaits...

Jubilee Year of Our Nation

National flag of Malaysia

What most people would think about a country is that, it has its own borders, and having to pass the shoreline means, that's not your country anymore. In my country, that's not exactly the case. Sabah and Sarawak decided to merge with Malaya today, but 50 years ago. It's fascinating to look back and see what our country has achieved. On Malaysia Day this year, is the time where all Malaysians should hold hands, stand together to renew our appreciation for the Malaysia Agreement back in 1963. I'm proud of my country, I hope it continue to develops, corruption reduces, the people prosper, and feel safe at all times. Happy Malaysia Day.

Pangkor Laut Resort

Few days ago my family and I made a trip to Pangkor Laut, off the west coast of Malaysia. Apparently, this private island is owned by YTL corporation. I think that is the reason why it was a painful trip. It was painful not because it was totally inferior to what I expected, but it was painful in our pockets. 2 sausages for RM45 what sense does that make....

Anyway, at least YTL was being kind to us and offered a package so we wouldn't bother about our meal costs, specially for Malaysians. Well done YTL, you are doing such an amazing job in this aspect!!! We got like 2 breakfast, 2 lunch and 2 dinner for a 3D 2N stay, sounds fair to me. Overall pretty good service, the employees are pretty friendly and joyful, food's pretty delicious.Oh, and I met Uncle Lim in person. Just, happy...

Here in Pangkor Laut the amount of hot girls are unimaginable. You see them almost everywhere but their cave is usually the swimming pool or the beach. So these are areas you should really focus on if you want to see them jump off their caves.

I would really recommend this place if you are planning on a family trip or a honeymoon, but don't blame if it sucks because you ain't blaming no one. Anyways, i was blessed not to be caught up in any jam even during raya season. Thank you lord for that. Thank you lord for paying my bills. You're the best...I mean it. Independence Day is coming for Malaysia, can't wait for that.

The World In London

Within a blink of an eye, the long awaited London Olympics 2012 has arrived. I could still recall myself watching the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics back in 2008, but i still insist they had the best opening ceremonies ever. Never thought i would even be watching, but i just did. I've been really busy lately, a lot of studying, driving exams and firm visits coming on the way. But I'll try to catch up with the Olympics, especially swimming and basketball. An event that is only held once in 4 years, i'll be really stupid not to watch, so who's gonna be champion again?

Chinese Women Makes It To Outer Space

Shenzhou-9
Earlier today, at about 6.37pm, history has been made. China has finally launched a woman to outer space. Only at 33 years old, she realized her dream as an astronaut, and also accomplished her mission to outer space with the Shenzhou-9 rocket. It is no surprise that she was an air force major in the PLA with 1680 hours of flying time. She must have felt so privileged to fly into space on behalf of female Chinese citizens. Well done. China's giving a lot of impact on the world!! And I believe will continue to improve!!! I felt privileged too being able to watch the launch live on television!!!! This is just brilliant!!!

Why do people give up on life?

A great song by Louis Armstrong
Why do people give up on life that easily? In today's climate, it is very common to see news about suicides, they are always at the front page. It's true to say that life does not go your way all the time, I've experienced extreme sadness and frustration before but i know at the end of the day, those dark skies will go and the bright skies will come. There's an article i read about a boy who committed suicide as he failed to a chase his crush. To my surprise, he was brought up in a well-off family, apparently he owned a BMW sports car worth half a million, his dad is a plastic surgeon, probably a multimillionaire, but that dude is dead now. Quite stupid right? People are cycling to hospitals and get their treatment, fighting for their lives, and he did this kind of thing. One thing I've learnt about life, and told by most people is that there's always somebody doing worse than you. When I look at it that way, I feel much better. Come on, live for yourself, why die for a girl who doesn't like you at all? LIFE IS GREAT MAN! There are so many girls out there! The second thing I've learnt about life is that it isn't easy. Surely there will be challenges ahead of you, but only dead people will not have challenges. So what if you failed your studies, so what if u are rejected from your favorite university, so what if your partner broke up with you, DO OTHER THINGS LA!!! Life is interesting, go get a tour guide license, maybe open up a small business. If you finish your own life, no one can save you, except for God. Start a new positive life in a new direction, or perhaps get a religion. Appreciate your life, as it can not be repeated. Overcome the sadness! You can do it! Sayonara!

Sir John Major, Now David Cameron

This dude is probably one of my favorite british prime ministers, he's David Cameron, leader of the conservative party UK, and also the youngest prime minister in nearly 200 years.
He's obviously the one of the left
I'm delighted that he made an official visit to Malaysia just a couple of days ago, i know that prime minister Najib had visited UK several times including the visit in the midst of the bersih rally which took place last year.Considering the fact that the queen was wearing yellow, i guess she's a women with a sense of humour.Coincidence or what? Well anyway, i just hope UK's relationship with Malaysia will be strengthened.
There are several reasons why i like this guy, let me tell you a few:

  1.  He's very charismatic, he's tall and speaks with confidence.
  2.  He resembles very closely with Buzz Lighter, my favorite toy story toy.
  3.  I like how he debates in parliament, how he savages Ed Miliband in most of the PMQ.
  4.  Although he's from a rich background and an etonian,he has his own youtube channel, transparency.
  5.  He stood his ground in a confrontation with the French president.
  6.  He sometimes rides a bicycle to office.
  7.  He's serious about his job and fulfills his responsibilities as a PM .
  8.  And most of all, he's a role model to follow.

Everything in Moderation

too much sleep = feel even more tired, half of your day gone
too little sleep = less energy, poor mental performance
eat too much = fats
eat too little = bag of bones
too many friends = confused whether they are genuine
too little friends = extreme boredom, lifeless shit
exercise too much = dehydration, exhaustion, feel like dying
exercise too little = fats, and other disease coming soon
study too much = go kuku
study too little = dumbass

They say 'do everything in moderation', do you agree with that statement?

TIME FLIES

Time really flies like an arrow, within a blink of an eye,it's the end of march!
There were many joyful moments, sad moments as well.
It sucks when the downs outnumber the ups.
But anyway, that's life I guess? We should never expect life to be nice and smooth all the time.
Sigh I wish I could go back to the old days, when there wasn't a shadow of stress at all.
Just toys, eat, drink, sleep, games and basketball...LAID BACK, ENJOYING LIFE.
Just recently collected SPM results, I guess hard work really do pay off. But, I have a B+, ASIAN LEVEL
But it's no big deal, we should not look back, I'm happy I passed my AG!!! LOOK FORWARD
Done with my moral presentation, my topic was 'Plastic Surgery and Adolescent', not the best group but yeah I think my group did quite fine.
Well I guess health is what's more important, Family is important in our lives as well.
They are people you share your life with, so don't take them for granted I mean...
Go eat some fruits with your grandparents, tell your parents you love them or something
Treasure time with your family before it's too late, I'm warning you.
I'm going to work hard for MI now, and hopefully procrastination does not kill me.
Until then, GOODBYE!

The Broken World

Being a teenager i have faced all sorts of challenges. Whether it's about peer pressure or whatever, i think the younger generation is gradually tearing apart. It's just seems to me that when a person does something, there's always a mask that is covering. Why are people comparing themselves to other people? Why must they feel so superior to other people? Can't we just hold hands and love each other? All they care is about themselves. Bunch of fakes these days. The world is totally unfair, even jerks get to win sometimes. It's making people think that they should be bad when others are. We should be taking our masks off and be who we truly are. Plus social media is just driving teenagers crazy, it's actually worse off. Now almost everyone communicate with their friends via online. My mum used to tell me how awesome a pen pal friendship could be, that she would wait in excitement for the reply letter. And she would send cards to her neighbors, playing all kinds of old outdoor games. I guess that won't happen in our world anymore. The world has broken into pieces. We should play our role to put those pieces together...and keeping our heads up!

Chap Goh Meh In Malacca

The Stadthuys ( The Red Building )

I can't remember exactly how long I've never traveled to Malacca. Probably about 4-5 years? I don't know what's happening to my family but it seems like we are having hardcore local trips this year. This time, I met up with relatives who live just 45 minutes away from Malacca. They've been here tonnes, so they offered us a tour around the city. It was a simple trip, just 2 days 1 night, however it was quite a memorable one. I think it's family bonding that really matters right? To me this trip was more of a foodie trip because we spent most of our time eating in jonkers street. To my surprise, there were many foreigners, more than you could imagine. Way more compared to Japan, I guess this is just the sort of places they like right? Very hectic, very large crowd, and i was barely moving cause there were too many people around, especially in those areas where lion dances and wushu performances were performed. Was even told that one of the performers represented Malaysia in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. All those stuff really brought back the feel of chinese new year. Malacca is one of our historic states i love and treasure. It's great to see how Malacca has developed right now. With new buildings coming up, tourist attractions, hospitals and schools being upgraded. Thank goodness our GPS led us the right way! By the way, I still insists that Japan has the best hot spring ever :3

Chinese New Year In Sarawak

James Brooke, an englishman who ruled Sarawak for quite some time
I just had a very interesting trip in Sarawak. It was my first time to travel to east Malaysia. It was also my first time, in a long time, that I spent my cny going abroad. I can say that I spent the past three days fruitfully by travelling to different places. Being here makes me understand numerous groups of indigenous people more deeply. Sarawak is also known as ' the land of the hornbills ', a very clean and quiet place i'd say. The hotel i stayed in was pretty good and comfortable as well. However it will not be suitable for youngsters to live in Sarawak though, the fact that it's too quiet and a separated population, it's making young clubbers clubbing a distant dream. Phew I'm glad i'm not one of those, so it's alright for me. Sarawak is quite a liveable place actually. Perhaps it's one my places. Food and property prices are also relatively cheaper as well. Malaysia is famously known as a multi–ethnic, multicultural, and multilingual society, it is also something that Malaysians should preserve. By visiting to the cultural villages will definitely improve your knowledge in sejarah, You should really get here because it makes sejarah a lot easier, merely memorizing sejarah would be simply meaningless you see. I'm proud that Sarawak is a part of Malaysia. We should be thankful for our political leaders in the past who took the effort combining this beautiful land with peninsular Malaysia. I encourage malaysians who never been here to come here. Make sure not to mess with the Ibans though! Don't want to see your head in their baruks! Happy chinese new year!
